that's stupid. The existence of a Higgs field interior the present universe in unquestionably no way speaks to the existence or non existence of God. the incontrovertible fact that somebody observed because it the God Particle is of no consequence. Higgs Boson would not contradict something it in basic terms explains how mass is created via a field as debris wade via it . It would not even communicate to the place the sphere got here from or the way it originated in our universe and it certainly would not supply us any timeframe for its existence - 6 days or 60 billion years. Even on the Quantum point the universe is guided via rules and equations that incorporate probabilities and the uncertainty concept. once you get an evidence for a manner those got here approximately and created the universe then you definately would desire to be directly to some thing. The Higgs makes no distinction interior the God No God debate. nada

Well, there is an alternative presented by the Late Dr. Carl Sagan, professor of Astronomy and Cosmology at Cornell University in New York.

He said we are currently in the first hour of the last day of the first month. In other words, the WHOLE universe is only a month old.

That's 4 times longer than the Bible says it took. Bible says a week, science says a month.

Your choice.

And here's a lesson in time for your from Albert Einstein and THIS has been proven to be true.

If you are 18 and your mother is 36 and she takes a trip around the star Alpha Centauri at about half the speed of light when she returns YOU will be 38 and SHE will be 37.

I think the Creator is continuously creating. I believe we get to caught up in the six day thing and fail to see the big picture that a being far more intelligent than us created it all. How He chose to do it is not for me to worry about. The universe is so vast and complex yet it has run like a Swiss watch for billions of years. Animal life is so very complex, with billions of bits of information in each cell, it boggles the mind. The only thing that boggles the mind more is how simpleminded non-believers who can't even find their car in the parking lot can insist that the universe and all life is just some unexplained accident.

Yes that is what the Bible tells us and it is the Word of Almighty God. There is a reason for 6 days of creation and the 7th day of rest. First God could have created it all in 6 seconds, but He used 6 days for some very good reason. God doesn't need any rest, so the 7th day of rest is for us and it carries a very good reason for us to discover. God says the Bible is precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little and there a little. We are to seek and find with the help of the Holy Spirit.

When Moses writes that God created Heaven and Earth and whatever is in them in six days, then let this period continue to have been six days, and do not venture to devise any comment according to which six days were one day. But, if you cannot understand how this could have been done in six days, then grant the Holy Spirit the honor of being more learned than you are. For you are to deal with Scripture in such a way that you bear in mind that God Himself says what is written. But since God is speaking, it is not fitting for you wantonly to turn His Word in the direction you wish to go.

this beautiful Babylonian/Sumerian myth predates the estimated period in which the book of Genesis was compiled by something like 4 thousand years. of course in the original story it was another God that created the world, and the 7 day creation effort was also introduced in the Hebrew version.

Yes, it actually took an all-powerful deity 6 whole freakin' days to create the universe... something he could have done with a snap of his fingers.

...if he even has fingers.

Christians want THIS nonsense to be taught in our publically-funded schools?

...are they CRAZY?
