the more movement, the more dissolved oxygen, which translates to larger organisms.
more movement translates to smaller plant life in the body of water, and sometimes, less vegatation on the edges.

the deeper a body of water is, the cooler it will be at the bottom.
if it is relatively shallow, it will be the same temperature as the surface, or real close.
