Potassium Permanganate is a treatment, not a disease. Its a skin antiseptic and can be used in baths where there is a generalised secondary infection such as could occur in eczema.

Do you mean what is it used for???

It used to be available over the counter for various treatments but had to be withdrawn as it is a constituent of explosives!

It is now only available as permatabs (which can't be used in explosives). It is quite good used as a soak in very inflamed skin conditions such as severe eczema or even severe fungal infections. I still sometimes use it to start things off if the patients skin is too inflammed to use more active treatments. I do however miss the crystals which were much more active.
