There are lots of ways to celebrate your union (rather than just not buying a wedding gown, which was just rude).
If you can keep it small and intimate, that alone will save you the most money. Weddings get expensive due feeding large number of guests. Try to have it at your church or local park, if you can limit alcohol then do so, and just have an intimate affair!
No matter what, enjoy your celebration!

Check thrift stores and do-it-yourself!
I found my wedding dress at a thrift store -- a dress shop downtown had just closed, and donated all of their extra dresses -- it was exactly what I wanted, for under $50! You may not be able to find quite a deal as that, but I know that many people do donate their dresses after their wedding, so you might find some that have only been worn once and are still in nice shape.
Also, doing your own invitations, bulletins, thank you notes, etc. can be time-consuming, but can save a LOT. Also, if you know of a family member who does photography, you can ask them to help -- or stop by a local liberal arts college and post an ad -- you'll probably be able to find people there who will do it for free, just to build their own portfolios.
Also, the timing of your wedding can save you a lot. We had an early afternoon wedding with a short cake & punch reception. The meal is normally one of the most expensive parts of a reception; scalilng that down can definately help.
Consider cutting out other "traditions" if they aren't really important to you. Do you absolutely need bridesmaids? Do you absolutely need a veil? Do you absolutely need tons of flowers, or is one bouquet for yourself enough?
Hope that helps; good luck!

You don't have to have all the frills of a "real" wedding to have a good one. In fact my friend did hers for under $5,000 and it was beautiful. She bought a white prom dress and silk flowers at a craft store. She got married at her husband's church (but you could even use a JP if either of you don't go to church). She had a very small reception after with just a dinner, no DJ or anything like that. Her uncle did the photography. Good luck!! and congrats on the baby on the way.

The best thing is you won't have to buy a wedding gown! That will really cut down on expenses; just wear a pretty dress. Hopefully you are only planning a very small family get-together because of the circumstances. Good luck....

Get married somewhere nice, a park, your parents home, you can even get married in a chapel of the church v.s. the steeple. Shop used clothing stores for your dress. Or get married in something nice, not a wedding dress. Also, instead of a big reception, make a local reservation at a local steak house afterwords. Every one can buy their own meal. You can always get married at the court house.
