Dear Friend,
Let us consult the Bible for the answer, why do we die?
The scriptures In the book of Genesis God created man, and gave him the whole of the Earth to live in and do as he wished. All god said was:
Genesis 3:3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' " God wanted them to leave this one tree alone as a symbol of his aithority, but Satan was jelous of Adam and Eve, and as we know he tempted Eve to eat from the tree as did Adam when tempted by Eve.
Gods origional purpose for us, was that we should live forever, on a paradise earth with him looking over us as a loving god
The bible says that god created them both in his own image, i.e. perfectly, and that if they had not questioned gods authority they would have lived forever, but in doing so, we became imperfect and death entered into the world: Romans 5:12 Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ
12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—
Under gods own law i.e. Leviticus 24:20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. As he has injured the other, so he is to be injured. the sacrifice of one perfect life (Adam) required the sacrifice of another perfect life (Jesus) This is why in John 3:16 it says 16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
The sacrifice of his Son atoned for all sin past present and future. So if we repent and turn to Christ, then we need not fear death, because God has promised that all who are saved shall be reborn to everlasting life on a paradise earth!
Why not read the bible, or ask you local Methodist Church where they can point you in the direction of an Alpha course, or a bible study.
God Bless

I will tell you what happened to me a couple of months ago and how I feel now.
I was riding the motorcycle to visit a friend and on the way I felt faint and very strange. I must tell you that here the normal mode of transp[ort is motorcycle. I went to turn and realised I was going to pass out. I tried to slow enough not to get hurt but didn't make it. I woke up with two motorcycles on top of me. Mine and another that I evidently crashed intop. Yes I finally got to a hospital and still had blood pressure 90/60 so it had to have been much lower than that.
The doctor said that he thought that mu heart had stopped and the accident got it going again. That is a very frightening thought and I am not ready to end my life at this time. I know death will come so I am not afraid of it but I sure am going to do all I can to prevent it. Yes I am taking medication and visit the doctor each month until more is know about why that happened.
I am not ever weight at all and thought I was in very good health. Had no problems before and none after.
I had bruses in places I did not think possible but no broken bones. I am 67 now so I guess my days are getting fewer but I sure would like to be around a long time yet.
God is not part of my life and even after what happened I have no thoughts about any god or heaven. When I die it is over for me. The end is final and there is nothig after.

Death is a part of life. It should not be feared and only is by those who do not understand that it is only a doorway into the next portion of our existence. God is a loving Heavenly Father. He is waiting for you with open and loving arms no matter what you have done or not done during this time period. He will give you all you can possibly imagine and feel comfortable with. The more good you have done. The purer your actions and intentions while in this state the greater your acceptance of God's grace you will have. Do not fear death. Live life with joy and charity that death will only be a step into being able to do more.

Death is the natural end to life. It may come peacefully or at the hands of another person. Death is nothing to fear. ALL but two men in the history of the world have passed through its doorway. Enoch and Elijah are those two. The best way to deal with the thought of death is to pray to God for strength. Know that Christ is your savior and you will be in heaven with God when it's all over. Death is the release from this sin sick world. We all have a purpose on earth determined by God and when that task is complete He will call each one of us home.
Death is difficult for some to deal with because it is a very singular action, you can't share the experience with others. The apostle Paul refers to death as sleep "all those who have fallen asleep in Christ", this tells me that death is just another thing that is to come. The ironic part is that we have our whole lives to dwell on the coming of that end. Live life daily to the glory of God and let death come when God chooses to take you home.
Death is not evil, Jesus died and was raised to life. We all know that there was nothing evil about Jesus, He was the "Son of God."
Hope this helps.
God Bless

Death is inevitable for all of us, but how it comes about is something to consider.
I recently had a friend die in a tragic accident in which he was killed instantly. He will of course have had no thoughts about his departing this life but it has left his family and friends shattered & feeling dispair that death should come to one so young and fit and full of life. In this case death was a very bad thing.
My grandmother on the other hand had a brain tumour which was not treatable. She went into decline not knowing who she was, who we were or having any control over her muscles etc. When she finally died, although we were very sad it was in some way a relief as the emotions we had been managing for so long could finally be put to rest.
I think the worst scenario is getting a disease which you know is going to kill you as you have time to think about it. You will dwell on how sad you are at missing out on various aspects of your potential future life as well as how much the people around you will miss you. It also gives you time to think about the afterlife, if there is one, what it will be like etc.
Overall I think death is worst for the people that are left behind as we mourn for the one we have lost.

well would you please write your question better?
i don't thing about death either good or bad but if i was to chose one i would say it would be a great relief to leave this sorry world we live in. it means nothing but sickness and death and disappointment and when you get older you see all your mates kick the bucket. Well, when its your turn to meet the grim reaper you should know that nothing death has that will equal the horror man has made on earth. Viet Nam Veteran..

I don't believe death is a conscious being. I think that what makes it good or bad is your relationship to God. If you believe in God and are looking forward to eternity it's a good thing, but if all you have is this life then no I'd think then that the concept of death would be depressing.

Death isn't good or evil, just as rain or gravity aren't.
They are what they are. That's all. There's no intention to them.
The death of a young, well person is tragic. But not evil.
The death of someone in great pain and with no prospect of recovery is often a relief both to them and their loved ones. But it's not "good" in the sense of intending to do good, because it has no free will.

i will tell you what my religion teaches and what i believe will happen when i die and i know this from the bible as it says it in black and white-
Ecc 9v15 "for the living are conscious that they will die, but as for the dead they are conscious of nothing at all, niether do they anymore have wages, because the rememberance of them has been forgotton. also their love and their hate and their jealously have already perished "
I know many religions believe in hel, and that why many fear death, but the bible doesnt actually teach this! the greek and hebrew names shoel and hades and gehenna are were hell is derived from, however when these are translated they are actually just the grave! Gehenna was in fact the name given to the place were dead bodies were burned outside the city of Israel!
so when we die we are are just dead literally! we are aware of nothing and have no spirit that goes on to another place! so in that light im not afraid of death! the only thing id be afraid of is how i die!

Whatever it is, it's coming to all of us. The alternative of living for ever seems an horrific one, the planet would be so overcrowded, it would be impossible to sustain everyone. It's not really death that scares us, it's the way we die, some are lucky and die in their sleep.
