I was told by some people that if you don't go back for at least one day then you have to pay back some of your leave? I just want to know if this is true?

Yes! Have you given your workplace notice about your plans? If not, you should. That way you are leaving on good terms and will not harm your future chances of a good reference.

It depends on the company. I got all my info before I left to make sure I didn't owe anything back etc.
I did not go back. Do you have any friends or anyone you can trust in the company that could research or get you some information? Do you trust your employer enough to talk to them about it? If so you might want to talk with them and say you are really struggling with leaving your child and coming back to work what would happen if you came back and found out you couldn't hand it then maybe you could find out what would happen if you didn't come back. I really hope that helps. I can relate to your situation and wish I could help more feel free to email me if you want to talk more. Good Luck!

It really depends on the company you work for and what is in the employee handbook regarding maternity or family medical leave.

Where I worked, I had to "plan to return to work full time."

I'm a stay at home mom now. My daughter did not take a bottle.

I don't understand why you are asking - you do not have to go back to work - you might lose some benefits if you don't - you might not be able to draw unemployment - but, you certainly can chose not to work. You should let your employer know asap what your intentions are.

This is one of those things that varies by company. Ask your Human Resoruces department they are the only people that will really know what applies to you.

Your best bet...talk to your local employment services office. They can tell you what is required.
