Why do buildings with clockfaces have the roman numererial with 4 (IIII) instead of the standard 4 (IV) .?

So as not to confuse it with VI, which was shorthand for Jupiter as well as the symbol for 6

It's because "IV" was also used to represent the Roman god Jupiter.

cause IV in latin means something other then four
