According to Davey Havok of AFI, who as we all know is a genius, this is the answer. Read it, because it really makes sense:

Easy... The Chicken. God Created the animals first then the reproduction came later.

Well, a 'chicken-like' like creature, (not a chicken), would have laid and egg and a 'true' chicken would have hatched, (evolution), so.......
the egg came first.
