You need to give yourself time to grieve the relationship, but try not to let the grief take over your life. Put all the things that remind you of your ex photos gifts etc into a box and put it somewhere where you won't see it every day but don't throw it out one day you will be able to open it and think back to the good times you shared without the pain. Get a new hobby, new hairstyle and clothes when your feeling really down talk to your friends. Always resist the urge to phone your ex it will only leave you more upset if he wanted to be with you he would contact you. You will meet the right person who will want to be with you and will love you more than anything and you will realise that the end of this relationship was for the best.

Take care

Move on! I dont mean that in a nasty way, but it is the only way to deal with it. Hard I know, but until you do, you will not be able to do all the things that will help you get over your ex. I have been there, split from a 14 year relationship and it does take time, but having friends and family to go out with and enjoy yourself will help ease the pain. If you meet a nice guy then go for it, I dont believe all this rebound stuff, someone new will definately help you take your mind off it. Afterall, how long do you think your ex will take before they get together with someone else? It is always harder seeing your ex with someone else after a split. I hope things get better soon for you.

I think getting drunk is not a good idea...You will only forget everything for maximum a day but you will still be really sad afterwards...
Just try to spent time with your friends just ask them to ba always around you cuz thats why are friends for...]
If you are alone you will start thinking of yr ex so try not to be alone...
try to do things that you like like go shopping with yr friends, go to clubs, go to the cinema ....just dont think about him for a while!
Just try to enjoy life i know it really difficult but in time you will not be that heart broken as you are now!
Best wishes!

Accept that it will be one of the hardest times of your life .. don't make any contact with the person. They say it takes 60 days without ANY contact to get over the one you loved. Throw away anything that reminds you of your partner, such as gifts, cards, photos .. anything that will make you think of him/her. Cry as much as you can or talk it out, don't keep it inside yourself. You'll feel better once you've let it out. Anyway, try to take up extra activities with your friends, such as a dance class, join a gym or anything that'll take your mind off him/her.

You may not want to hear this but their is nothing that heals the wound of broken heart except time. Then with time the gap left behind is filled with other meaningful things. There is no easy answer, rebound relationships, alcohol etc .. none of them work.

You need to rebuild that heart slowly.

Cry for a month. Lose two stone. Burn all the photos of the two of you together. Pawn the jewellery he gave you and spend the cash on a new hairdo. Then forget about him. Move on and NEVER look back. You've done your grieving - it's time for a fresh start. Good luck x
