we're in trouble if ghosts AREN'T evidence of an afterlife.

No Ghosts aren't evidence for the after life because Ghosts existence hasn't been proven yet.

I would say yes that ghost represent the afterlife process. I say process because the ghost are normally ghost because they are trapped in this world still for one reason or another. They must be released from the ties in this world in order to go on.
I live in a haunted house and no I am not crazy. Things happen like organ plays in the middle of the night, kitchen cupboards are all open - I tell this "ghost" of mine to never mind and to just face teh fact that she is gone. It is normally very quiet for at least 3 months.

No.Ghosts are nothing more than demons scaring,misleading and basically enjoying themselves at the expense of humans.
The Bible clearly teaches that when we die we feel nothing,are aware of nothing - we go back to the ground from which we came.
The only life after death will come when Jehovah God resurrects all those asleep in death.

If proven, they could be evidence for something, but you can only follow where the evidence leads, not where you want it to go.....that would be like religion.
