My husband is positive "Hepatitis B core antibody" and all the other hepatitis B tests are negative, two months ago also he was having the same result.
Six months ago he was all negative.
I also tested my self it came all negative.
He is not having any health complications and he didn't have any troubles for the last three years.
Doctor told him you don't have to take any treatment; have sex with your wife without protection!!!!
My questions are:
1- Is the viruses still a live in his liver?
2-what is the chance to transfer the virus to me.
3- What is the likelihood for the virus to start active again?
4- Do you suggest any medicine for him at this stage?
5- Is the "Hepatitis B core antibody" test required for immigration or they are asking for the "Hepatitis surface antigen" test only

i think it means that your husband has an active antiboy to fight off hepatitis b. since antibody refers to body's defense against any pathogens. does your husband acquire a hep b vaccine? coz it could contribute why they found a Hep B core antibody on him.

i don't think your husband has hepatitis b.. hepa b is really contagious.. can be transferred via blood transfusion and sexual intercourse. hepa b once you acquire it, will remain with you forever. some remains dormant, but will potentially show up again once body's immune system goes down...

if you are too concern, try a 2nd or 3rd opinion, and do some follow-up lab results.. the doctor can give u good advice which medications to take..

hepatits B test is required if you're planning to immigrate to other countries.. they all look for hepa b surface markers.. if they confirmed that the person is really positive, then, that might cause a problem..
