I bought my boys this disc cleaner from EB Games and it seems to work wonders. I can' remember the name brand but if you go online to www.ebgames.com you should find it no problem.

They can be polished if the scratches are very shallow. Most of the time it does not help much.

If something is important to you on disc then a backup disc should have been made. Also learn to be more careful with them.

It may still be possible to make a copy of the disc so give it a try.

You can go and pay big bucks and get products that claim to be "specially formulated" to remove light scratches on discs. I personally have had better luck with plastic cleaner/restorers that are found in automobile/motorcycle shops. These products were designed to restore the visors on helmets. There are several good ones on the market and they equally do a good job.

Putting them in the freezer sometimes works but it depends how bad the scratches are. Clean it first, then freeze it.
