I need a bit of work and I'm searching for a good general dentist in my community. I work ~25 miles away from home; Ideally, I'd be able to get dental work done afternoons, then go home early.

Considering the distance you have to commute, I'd definitely want a dentist closer to work.

My reasoning is due to the need for minor dental work that wouldn't require being gone for work any longer than needed for the appointment. I'd rather be able to return to work so in order to continue as normal as possible work schedule.

If I were to need more extensive dental work I would hope to have available someone who can drive with me, that way I won't have to worry about driving while under the influence of pain killers. However, if no one were available to drive with me for those types of appointments, I'd probably want to live closer to the dentist than work.

Good luck, this can be a tough choice.

It depends on what kind of work you need to have done, but I would say go to a dentist closer to home. Unless it's just a check-up, you are probably going to be in a bit of pain and discomfort, so I'm guessing you won't want to go back to work afterwards.

It is better if the dentist is close to your home because after your visit you can go home earlier to take a rest. If it is close to your work, then you will have to stuck in traffic if it is rush hour.

HA HA, I work for the government too.....book the appointment in the afternoon and get the rest of the day off with pay. It's only medical leave and doesn't count toward your sick leave :-)

each one has it's advantages........but it's best to go to a dentist who is reliable and whose work is credible. that cud be the dentist near your home or office or midway.....
if it's small appointment then go somewhere close to work on you way home, but if it's something that wud require more no. of appointments then prefer home....coz if you are recalled on a holiday then it is feasible to go to a dentist close to home.
