My brother and his fiance are really onto the idea of moving to New Zealand next year, my Mum and Dad wanna go too. My boyfriend likes the idea coz his brothers just been out there for a year...now the problem is I DON'T WANNA GO!! Well not just yet, perhaps in the future but right now i've got other things to think about. I'm worried that everyone will move out there and i'll miss them all. A few friends have said they'd love to do this and a few others said perhaps not due to friends/family all being here! I'm stuck...HELP!!
Who's been to, or is from New Zealand and can explain to me what the fuss is all about??

It's not that i like England that much that i wanna stick around, i really don't. i can't wait to move out of the UK however perhaps not as far as New Zealand, i'd prefer somewhere closer, like France, Spain etc...

Well, New Zealand is very far away, indeed. By moving to France or Spain you'd be a lot closer to the UK, but you would have to learn the language if you want to be able to get a decent job, other than washing dishes in a restaurant. By moving to an English-speaking country you wouldn't have to worry about this problem, you could just walk into a job similar to what you do now. Learning a language well enough to be able to do just a simple office job is not that quick, even if you live there. How long would it take you to know enough French or Spanish to be able to take phone calls from customers who speak with a strong accent, the one you haven't heard before. It takes time. But in New Zealand you'd quickly get used to their accent. Anyway, if all your family is there then you wouldn't want to come back to the UK that often. Maybe once a year or once every 2 years and I'm sure you could cope with the trip if it is only done so rarely. If you were in France then, yes, you could come to the UK once a month but if all your family live in New Zealand then what's the point? I'm sure you can keep in touch with your old mates from New Zealand and you'll probably become very popular if you move New Zealand because your mates know that they'll have somewhere to stay if they ever visit the country. I believe it's beautiful there, I've never been but would love to go there once.

got mates out there, people are friendly and climate is similar to UK.
but if you do not want to go you have already answered your question.Have a chat with your boyfriend and explain how you feel.He could take into account how you feel at the present time and at a later date you may feel like moving out to New Zealand.
But go with your gut feeling if you do not want to go now then don't.If later you are missing your family all you have to do is jump on a plane.Plus you could always visit your family when they have settled
in down there and you will get a better feeling of New Zealand and by all accounts is a nice place.

New Zealand is the most fabulous place on earth. I have been there six times and would jump at the chance of emigrating. It's clean, beautiful, calm, fun, friendly, and the men are often very sporty and fit! Go for a year and if you hate it - come back (although I bet you won't)

Grab your chance. Go for it!!!
New Zealand is extremely nice. Good climate and the most friendly peple on earth. Lots of wide open space. There's loads of outdoor activities, great walking, sailing, sports etc etc. The food is very good.
If I were you, book a holiday there - I think you'll be convinced!

Have your family actually looked into the logistics of it all? You can't just turn up and live in NZ because you fancy it. It's pretty hard to get in - you need to have a skill that is in shortage, or get sponsored by a company. So I wouldn't stress too much about it just yet!
