He pooped yesterday; and he normally moves his bowels once a day - sometimes in the afternon and sometimes in the evening. It's already 3am and he still hasn't gone. His tummy looks really full. He is sleeping peacefully now. Should I be worried? When is a cat considered to be constipated?

If your cat strains or cries when in the litterbox, that would be a sign that he's constipated. If he's just not going, it's probably nothing to worry about.

My girls have occasionally gone a day without going. If it goes on for much longer, though, I'd take him to the vet. If something is going on, you can nip it in the bud.

You don't want to give him milk. Most animals become lactose intolerant. You are just making his belly hurt. You can get cat lax from your veterinarian, which is a laxative for cats. You may want to talk to your vet about putting him on lactulose for the rest of his days to keep his bowel movements regular. If he is an over weight cat, they have a higher tendency of getting constipated. So, a diet might help to. But talk to your vet first before trying anything on your own. Good luck!

I think he is not constipated because this is normal for any pet because my friends dog didnt use the bathroom well did pee not poo but was alright when he has to go he will go but if you dont see poo in his litter box about 2-4 days then consult your vet immedietly. Also make sure the litter box is clean so you are aware of when he uses or does not use the litter box to poo!

Depends on how long it's been. I'd give it 3 to 5 days. Try giving him milk or Tuna Fish. And keep the litter box clean so you'll know when he does go. If your really worried, take him to the vet

Does your cat eat dry food only? Cats that eat canned food have to poop more often than cats who don't.
