Five minutes is a bit short. I took fifteen minutes minimum to do a return when I worked at Block. It should not just be a matter of entering numbers on the form. You can download the IRS 1040 booklet and do that yourself, if you take time to read it.

I'm not sure that going to a different office is such a good idea. At some point you are going to have to be less than truthful in getting it checked. You may as well go back to the original office and ask a manager to review it. Be firm. You might want to look through the 1040 instructions at www.irs.gov (left hand side of the home page) and see what they may have missed.

Of course, your affairs may be so simple that it does, indeed, take 5 minutes to enter the numbers into the computer and print out a two page return. However, you are paying for more than that. Think of it this way. You spent five minutes with them. Allow another five minutes for the preparer for admin work. That's 10 minutes. say $50 absolute minimum for a return. That's the equivalent of $300 per hour. That's three times more than CPA's in this area charge! You may actually find you get better service going to a CPA. Try it and see.

They can redo your taxes, sure. If there are any errors they may catch it.
Since it didnt take long I'm thinking you're doing a 1040 ez perhaps?
If you did the long form and only had a couple of deductions like health care and mortgage interest, it wont take long. That's why the new tax software is so great. Even someone like me can do it, just fill in the blanks.
If you think they did u wrong, take your return to another place and let them see if they can find you and missed deductions.
