You open a door for someone, and they walk right through without even acknowledging you? I know some people have no manners or tact, but it irritates me to no end, when someone does such a thing. Makes me want to slam the door on them.

I completely agree with you, i absolutely hate unthankful people. People should never take anything just for granted. Next time i would indeed slam the door on them. To teach them a lesson and to wake them up from their silly little world.

What you are experiencing is one part of a larger phenomena|

It is a gross depersonalization where some people look upon others as mere objects to gratify themselves|

They don't even acknowledge others as human beings any more|

So if you do them a favor, so what? To them you are just like the automatic door opener| Why thank a machine?

I know that that sounds grossly terrible, but that is the way that many people are becoming now|

It shows primarily in a lack of gratitude, which fails to acknolwege the humanity of another for what he has done for him|

Such people also use and abuse others for their own gain|

They deceive others and tell them anything to get others to do what they want| They have no regard at all for truth and goodness|

But as some are growing in this malevolance, the rest are growing in goodness as they are being purified and being given wisdom because of the persecution that they have to endure from the evil ones|

We are living in very interesting times now, as people are becoming either *extremely evil* or *extremely good,* with no inbetween any more|

What we are now experiencing is a *judgment in minurature,* as the *goats* are being separated from the *sheep|*

It is now becoming more and more evident as to who is on which side|| || || ||

You will find another thing too - and don't be too shocked at this| Someone who you thought was your best friend and confidant, you will find has been playing you like a fiddle and using what you have told her in confidence to spread dirt about you all over the neighborhood|

But don't worry if you find that| You will have the means to stand up to that and keep going|

I have discovered that more than once myself| The first time, I was really hurt| But it is something you build strength against as it happens to you, and you get to the point where when it does happen you just shrug: "I am glad I found that person out - now to move on| Such people can appear so real, but they are not|

We are living in very interesting times now|

Yes, oh my God! I work in a private secondary school (in finance). The girls that go there do that to me all the time. And sometimes its even worse. Sometimes they are on the other side of the door so obviously I don't see them until I open it. Well, when I open it and am just stepping through it, about 5 girls come barging through before me. I feel like screaming at them 'Yes, hello! I opened the door for me, not for you! And you could have at least said thank you!!!' So rude! And you'd think being in a school like that, that they would have gained a few manners!!!

I agree with you. I'm at work (in a retail store) and literally went outside without my jacket (it's minus 14 degrees) to hold the door open for a customer that has on of those walkers and a seat and wheels. She didn't even acknowledge this. When it was time for her to leave, I let her deal with the door herself.

Aadel has the right idea.

Sort of like buying people Christmas presents to get a gift from them or to give a gift?

Ask yourself this question: Do I open the door to show politness or to get acknowledgment. If the later, then do not open the door.

How about when you hold the door open for a "lady" and she gives me a dirty look and says she could do it herself!
