And what software would I need? I only ever use Windows for CD back ups and the only other burning software I have installed is Nero 6.

yes you can copy just about anything on your computer to dvd -- programs pictures music ect ect . i havent had a chance to play with the newer 9 gig dvds yet -- but on the old 4.7 dvds i was able to put about 4000 songs on 1 dvd which is great if you want to transfer music from 1 computer to another -- also makes an awesome photo storage -- hope this helps

Yup, when backing up data to a DVD you treat is the same way as a CD. Only difference is it's bigger.

"Im TOODVD Ripper", my maximum suitable decision in which you will convert vob data to dat/mpg/....and so on data as in line with your decision and you may split the data in required report sizes i.e. one hundred mb/650mb/700mb/...and so on
