I've had a similar problem before, sometimes animals are better judges of character than we are, and sometimes they get jelous, just like we did when we were kids, of our space and comfort ect. if she keeps getting jelous, i would make a seperate bed, area, so they know its their own, and its still close to you. I would also let your bf, get her toys, feed her once in a while ect, if you are to be living together, so she gets used to him. most of the time they go to who feeds them and cares for them. just a few ideas.:)

LOL the kitty will get use to him. Don't worry. I have 3 cats and they were not happy two years ago when my BF moved in. Now I have a traitor in the pack. My cat who is the beta cat stays by him all the time. My girl cat would have nothing to do with him, yeah well she spends equal time with both of us but she sleeps on my side of the bed. Now the Alpha cat accepts him but he is mine. There is no doubt about that.
Cats are territorial and he is just a little put off because he considers you his. He will adjust. My BF still can't play with my alpha like he does with the others. He just got hissed at last night. Wing {Cat} will only put up with so much from him.

I have the same problem,

My Partners cat has taken a massive shine to me,
(Mostly because i feed him!), but when it comes to bed time,
he waits around until i go to bed, (Im usually the last one up the stairs) then he follows me in and persists in getting between me and her ALL NIGHT LONG, wanting me to stoke him!

Im a huge dog lover so this is weird for me, surfice to say my girlfriend has become quite apt at 'Launching a cat' from the bed lol!

My cats used to run away from my b/f. One was particularly nervous but we encouraged the cat to stay in the same room as us by giving him a hiding spot where he didn't think we could see him but he could watch what was going on. Gradually he has gotten braver and now quite often jumps onto the sofa with us and (annoyingly!) onto the bed during the night where he quite happily spreads right out!!

i know this might sound silly but let your cat and your boyfriend have time together, you go out and your boyfriend comes back to the house by himself let him then feed the cat and have play time while its just the 2 of them. your cat is probably feeling threatened by your boyfriend and just needs time to get use to him. also make sure you pay attention to the cat when your boyfriend is there

Give her time. When my partner first started staying over my cat would get in between us and was not happy. Get your bf to brush her and feed her and she will come round.

My cat was similar in that she would not allow any other of my family to stoke or pet her, only me. Try getting your boyfriend to start feeding her,and then whilst your cat is feeding, stroke the cat. it will stop associations of ownership.

Good luck!

Your cat feels threatened. She thinks of him as an intruder. She will get used to having him around, it just takes time he is a stranger in her house.

Good Luck

the cat will get used to him through time, don't pamper it too much, and don't let it rule your life. my cat once clawed my son when he was just born because it was jealous.

your cat probably doesnt approve of living together before marriage - perhaps getting married to your chappie would help that problem?
