Hello.

I have always been curious as to how hypnotherapy works exactly. And also especially curious as to if it works.

I have suffered from depression/anxiety/etc. in the past. I have had years of psychotherapy, but my troubles still seem to reoccur. I would like a way to ease my mind of repetitive, self-destructive, negative thoughts that cloud my mind, and learn to think (and essentially act) more healthlily.

Will hypnotherapy help me to achieve this goal? And if yes, how does this process work?

[Serious answers only please. Thank you.]

It delves into your subconcious mind and helps you change the way you think almost.

It is extrememly relaxing..

i had one session and at the end of that session - i felt so calm and relaxed and it did help me.

I would say YES go for it.. what have you got to lose right?

You will need more than one session though.. i was told around 6ish for my anxiety... and i DID see a small improvement after the first time...

I keep meaning to book more but haven't got round to it.. i am definately going to though...

Good luck :)

hypnotherapy results vairy from person to person,
how it works is on your subcontious mind something we have no controll over deep in our subcontious are where our fears, additions perssonality traits all that sort of stuff that affects our every day lifes that we seem to have no way of getting past.

my friend went to have hypnosis for smoking and she has not had one since but my husband saw the same person and got hypnotised and it was not successfull.

some people need more than one treatment.

HYPNOTHERAPY DOESN'T WORK FOR EVERYONE. BUT IT CAN HELP WITH ANXIETY PROBLEMS, MOST HYPNOTISTS GIVE YOU A CD THAT YOU CAN PLAY TO REASSURE YOURSELF WHEN YOU GET AN ATTACK.ITS WORTH GIVING IT A GO, BUT GET A LIST FROM YOUR GP OF QUALIFIED ONES,AS THERE ARE A LOT OF QUACKS OUT THERE.

Therapy through hypnosis. It doesn't work, it's all just will, you can will yourself just as much as any quack who charges you over a hundred dollars an hour.
