I am a doctor here in Phils but wanted to migrate to UK or US. Any ideas on how to find the best and fastest way to migrate without applying as a nurse? I am a Medical Technology graduate by the way. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

That is a tough one. We have our own medical boards and as a rule people get their first jobs through the path of school to internship to position.

However, you might try the human resourse department of several hospitals and ask. I say several, because it will probably take banging your head against a wall a few times before you get an answer that helps.

You can also try USCIS.gov, but I think you are asking about the practical application process rather than how to get a visa, per se.

-EDIT

I saw this and thought of you "The class action suit ("Schneider vs. Chertoff") was filed by Shusterman on behalf of a group of international doctors in response to CIS regulations implementing the Nursing Relief for Disadvantaged Areas Act of 1999. Section five of the Act provides that "any alien physician" can qualify for a green card through a "National Interest Waiver," provided they practice in a federally designated health professional shortage area. The National Interest Waiver program is intended to accelerate the hiring of international doctors willing to serve in such areas."

Apparently the foreign doctors just won that suit as in a news article today. Don't know if that helps, but good luck!

there's no easy way to apply immigrant visa here in US and work as a doctor, everything will go through hard way and you must study here again in US in order to be a doctor cuz education in US & Phils. are not completely the same.

Good Luck & more blessings!

You could search for jobs based on your qualifications on some of the major job websites like Hotjobs,Monster,Careerbuilder and post your resume on these job boards. You could also search for jobs on websites like Craigslist,Simplyhired and Indeed. More information available at

For the US you'll have to come in legally...or you won't be practicing anything except how to repack your luggage.
