I'm sure you just got up to relieve yourself & didn't turn it off. Lights don't turn on on their own.

You may have gotten up in the middle of the night and used the bathroom, when coming back into your room just went back to bed and left the light on.
Or you have a BOO! in your house. Ghost.....You make no mention of how long you have lived in the house. You probably just left it on some time during the night, a lot of people maneuver around pretty well when they are half asleep.

Spooky ! :) I haven't experienced this myself, but I have a friend who did and I'm certain of his sanity and sincerety.
I don't think it's an electricity fault, because usually when a light is turned off, it stays off through its designed mechanism. So I would think that's improbable.
Sleep-walking.. now that's a certainty :) I mean.. Sleep-talking and rarely walking is something I do myself when very tired and get stories about it later on :) You might have did it yourself. I suggest you grease your light-button with something that when touched leaves a semi-permanent mark on your hand.. and also is easily observed as touched.
If this happens again and yout finger is clean.. then maybe you should move :)) (just kidding). Good luck !

You are probably sleep walking. If you lock the door at night it seems like you have a sense of insecurity in the house, so you may have subconsciously turned the light on in your sleep for comfort.

it maybe sleep walking. or not even sleep walking, you are that tired and you do something like that. Dont stress yourself out too much over it. Next time, test yourself. Do the exact same thing and see if the light is turned on when you wake up the next morning. It maybe that you are doing it in your sleep. Or it was just a once off.
Good luck

I had a series of unexplainable events a couple of years back upon waking. Strange bumps and bruises and jewelery bent rings squashed flat on my finger etc. I set up the camcorder over a few nights but caught nothing on tape, but then it seemed to stop all on it's own? Although every now and again I still wake up with an odd bump or bruise, who knows eh?

I lived in a house where Ghosts would turn the TV on and off. turn the water faucet on and off. Hide things on me....It's hard to believe but it's true! When Ghosts know they are getting a reaction out of you they will do what they are doing even more intensely...wait and see what else happens.....if nothing else happens then it's not ghosts!!!

You know electric switches are funny things. They get turned on by themselves. I wish my girlfriend was like that!
