I know its not in Beta anymore and supposedly this is the release that has been perfected to date, but I have heard nothing but negative comments and experiences from those who have "upgraded" to Vista so far. What are you thoughts?

It usually takes at least a year before they get the main bugs out of a new op sys. I dont buy one until its proven and all the mfgs have software patches and drivers for it. Yes, I call these people guinea pigs! Good thing they try it tho or the new system would never make it to market! Hats off to all you foolhardy rubberheads that go out and by it first thing!

like windows xp windows vista has good points and bad the only reason i can see to run Windows vista is if you buy a new machine and it is already installed on it allot of company's have not yet came out with updates to run your printers cameras etc windows vista is very security minded and which is good but it gets annoying to be asked every time you try to do anything "are you sure you want to do this"

Get a (ahem) "demonstration" copy and run it in dual boot. Driver support is still forthcoming (or not coming at all) for some hardware, and software compatability is not great either. I'm guessing a year before it's truly out of beta.
