why do people follow material things and why they consider fashion to be very important part of their lives though these things keep on changing they dont possess any life.

because following god isn't enough for them .they are still a part of the world.we are to be in the world but not of the world.

It is because it changes that makes it appealing. It feels like growth and feels satisfying for a time. It can be addictive of course and keeping up with fashion can be destructive. Following non-material things (religion) also can be destructive in that it can be a distraction from your life and reality in general.

Because posessions make people happy. The desire to own things of interest to yourself and others is what makes the world's non-food economy go round.
As for fashion, people enjoy looking asthetically pleasing to themselves and others. I don't see a problem with that unless you let it rule your life (or wardrobe).

Just for fun. Fashion is a great expression of who I am. Some people get obsessed, and that's often because they feel they have nothing else.

but some how they focus on it and give it priority and forget that it will be damaged and gone one day, it won't last for ever
