Friend, you don't have any choice in the matter. Most nations will not allow you to enter regardless of reason or visa unless you have a minimum of 6 months validity on your current passport. The one year passport was issued for emergency travel. If you were living here at the time, you should have advised the UK Embassy you needed a regular passport and would be in country long enough to receive it. Get your **** in gear and go to Bangkok and see if the Embassy can assist you. Aside from that you could be in deep kimchee...ooops sorry thats Korean...deep khao pad!

Looks like you may have to go to Bangkok again my Friend
The British Embassy will sort your New Passport there.

Also go to any Thai Immigration Office and explain the Situation and they should give you up to a 10 day Extention.
Which can be reached with a valid reason for Official Overstay
in the Thai Kingdom.

You need a new passport . Period. Most countries will not allow you entry unless you have at least 6 months left on your passport to expiry, and your temporary passport just does not cut it. I believe this was issued to help you stay in Thailand and for you to return to make a new one, back home. So you just have to and return with a new valid passport. By the way Thailand will only allow 90-day total tourist visa in a 6-months period, so you may not be allowed entry unless you pay for the visa after the 90 days stay.

How long are you going to KL? The embassy in KL has pretty quick turn around, one of my mates had his passport turned around in 3 days in KL. http://www.britishhighcommission.gov.uk

With 4 days left on your Thai visa, it looks like you're between a rock and a hard place. If you make a visa run you risk them not letting you back in because of the requirement of 60 days of validity on your passport. Personally I'd hightail it to KL, get the paperwork in, and hope they turn it as fast as possible.

Go to thaivisa.com and hit the thread on visa, passports, etc, and ask this question. You will get your answer. There are many expats with all kinds of info re: visa runs and best cities to get visa renewals. KL might be your best choice, but ask them for a dependable answer.
