COMPLEX CARBS. They're good for you. You need more carbs, because they are the primary source of energy, not protien. Whole grain wheat, oatmeal, oats, etc are good for you. Drink about 8 glasses of 8 oz of water a day. No more soda. There's not nutrients. Lunch is more of a snack, carrot sticks and tuna is a good start. Your big meal is breakfast because you'll be using the energy through out the day. Dinner dishes include Brown rice, green beans, and small portions of protein, fish and poultry is better than red meat. Avoid eggs in general, one egg has enough cholesterol for your entire day. Intake of calories should be no less than 1000 a day. And you shouldn't eat around or after 9pm because it's unlikely that you will be moving around enough to use the energy and burn the calories. So it will be stored in the adipose tissue *fat*. If you really want to learn more, enroll in an online, or once a week community college, nutrition class. You will learn how to calculate the amount of protiend, carbs, and fats your own body needs, as well as how to handle your cholesterol levels. Remember: LDL : is low density lipoprotein/lipids and HDL is High density. LDL=Lousy HDL=Healthy. A nutrition class is very beneficial. I began eating healthier and losing weight when I was 14 *was indeed obese* and I'm fortunate to say that my cholesterol is fine. It's actually surprisingly normal and low considering 7 years of good food, versus 14 years of bad. I'm in nutrition now. And although I've already recognized things that I learned when I started eating better, I've learned even more.
In general, thos "fad" diets are BAD for you. Too much protein can make you sick, and too little can cause kworshiorkor, which stunts your growth, brain development, and causes edema, which makes your belly stick out like you're pregnant. You have to be careful. Your body has needs. And stay away from diet pills. It doesn't matter what commercials say. They are not supported by any of the leading food, health, and nutrition administrations. Most of them are basically speed, and CAN kill you. They CAN cause cardia arrest. As long as you eat for the amount of energy you need, you won't have a problem. If you go to restaurants, get smaller portions, order the kids menu if you have to *and if it isn't too gross*. Also monitor your fiber intake. Fiber helps aid in constipation, and can also help prevent diahrea and diverticulosous. A nasty disorder that cuases pockets in the inestine to form, become inflamed, and sometimes entrap fecal matter, and infect it.
I hope this helps. I promis if you monitor your food, it'll work. THAT is the true, good diet. "it worked for me, I lost 50 pounds, LITERALLY" so avoid the fad diets. Just do what's normal

The only diet that I truly recommend is a detox diet. Detox diet aids in removing toxins. Toxins are the cause of weight problems and many of the symptoms that one experiences like constipation, headaches, eczema, bloating and bad breath.

With detoxification, you also get more energy for having gotten rid of stuff that has been accumulating in your body for the longest time.
