So, I hear (from Christians) that the only way to go to heaven is by accepting Jesus as your personal saviour while you're alive. If you die without having accepted him...... You know the story. Well, What about all the millions of people who lived before Jesus was invented, I mean before Jesus and the concept of one God was even born? Didn't God care about those people? Most certainly they died without having accepted Jesus. My Aztec ancestors worshiped, the sun, the moon and a whole bunch of other "gods" and by the way, they were very violent people who conquered, sacrificied and even cannibalized their POW's. Where was Mr. Jesus in all this? Why were my Aztec ancestors not given the chance to know about Jesus? Can someone explain this to me? I mean, Jesus Christ!! LOL

Of course it doesn't add up.... it's all nonsense, isn't it?

Even those who profess to believe the scriptures, (weather they are of the Bible or of the Curan or of some other unsubstantiated holy book,) those believers of God and other deities, are plagued by "back-sliding," "doubt," "weakened faith" and whatever other term they choose to verbally use as a disguise for the truth of their inner non-belief. It's a mere scam for some, for those who dishonestly profit by propagating religions; but, it's a damn shame for others, for those who fail to see through the vale of dishonesty placed before their eyes.

It's disgusting that people won't choose to be forthright with themselves and with others of the world they live in.

It's really simple, folks.... There is no mysticism - no God. Why not show some character, y'all believers, and yield to the facts of your doubt - tell yourself the truth for a change and finally accept the reality of it, humbly and sincerely.

That's the only way now. Before Jesus there was the old law/law of Moses. It was a lot more work and far more strict. Those that haven't heard the word of God cannot choose to reject it or to follow it...so they aren't necessarily burning in hell. I mean, what about kids who are too young to understand it or anything else in the world? I don't know how they'll be judged. I haven't really studied the topic.

Anyways, Jesus taught the New Law and Christianity was born after his death. The concept of one God was around long before Jesus, and just like now...not everyone believed it.

According to the general disposition of God, the souls of all the saints who departed from this world before the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ will be with Christ in heaven, in the heavenly kingdom and paradise, joined to the company of the holy angels

I wonder about it, too. If God is truly one and just, then those whom Jesus did not meet will be given amnesty. By the way, why did God not think of Jesus right from the beginning? Did He not envisage the necessity for Jesus then? Why then is God called omniscient, omnipotent, all-seeing, non-mistake making, etc? Or do we have different Gods(creators!) and different reigns and different messages and different laws? Confusion upon confusion! My own conviction about and concept of God is that marvellous being, who is loving, kind, understanding, just and incapable of vindictiveness.

Now you did it . You just opened a large book of worms . I hope your ready for the answers you receive.
I wil try a quick theory.
Aztecs like many other people . Were amazed at different things that happened. Without prior knowledge of Lightning .
Try and imagine Lightning when seeing it for the first time.
A child has parents that say hey its OK.
Well back then thunder , lightning, Earthquakes. All of natures amazing effects. Scared the daylights out of people. So not being able to do anything about it . Believed that it was a force greater than themselves. So like the enemies of today . We offer gifts to keep the peace . They think it works and tell their kids what to do.
People of today are afraid of death or still believe that things they do not understand will hurt them . So they worship a belief that is a higher power.
I am not saying it is a bad thing.
If a person finds a happy life through a belief . I say Believe.
But when people go to war over who 's belief is the correct one.
I do not see any sense or good in that.

What about the ancestors of Jesus,King David for instance? We Christians don't believe that all Non-Christians will be going to Hell.We believe that you cannot go to Heaven unless Jesus says so.And God is not like a bad policeman, waiting to send people to Hell.Overcome your cynicism and you might see God.

Actually, in the time of Jesus, there was a trade (similar to magicians nowerdays) where one would go around performing miracles. There is no proof that Jesus is the son of God, other than some 2000 - yr - old book.

Yes, it all adds up if you read the Bible and understand it.

Read Romans chapter 2 which tells you about your ancestors.

For those who died before Jesus was sacrificed, He spent three days in the underworld preaching to them (well, one whole day and part of two more).

And God DOES have an answer for everything.

Hello,

(ANS) Christians invented the concept of jesus, frankly I dont believe he even exisisted. Its a pure myth, its a fairy story and a weird one at that!! A man that dies and then comes back from the dead.

**Oh! and the bit that really really enrages me is that he's supposed to have died on my behalf too? Dont guilt trip me with that rubbish! I never asked jesus, god or anyone else to take responsibility for my actions & consiquences in this life or beyond. If thats what christians believe fine just dont dump it on me thanks but no thanks!!

**Oh! and I'm an Atheist in case your wondering?
