I want to have sex, but am afraid I'll get pregnant. I don't know where to get birth control and I don't have the money. Do I really need it? Or is a condom enough? Friends I've asked are already on birth control, so they never had sex without it. I don't know what to do. I don't want to give in to temptation and end up pregnant. I think that would put quite a damper on the relationship and my life. Any advice?

I used just condoms for over a year and was perfectly safe, now on BC...And BC is pretty cheap...just go to your local planned parenthood or job and family services office. Usually how much you pay depends on your income.

You definitely need to get on birth control. Go to your local planned parenthood or county health clinic and have an exam and get on the pill. You need to use condoms as well to avoid STDs.
By the way, you should want to have sex because you are in a long term committed relationship and you love your partner. you make it sound like you're thinking about it like you're thinking about going to the movies. it's a VERY big deal. dont' give in to temptation because you respect yourself enough not to do so. Birth control should also be something that you discuss with your significant other; you didn't even mention him.

If you can't afford birth control, but you can find the time to have sex, use that time to find a job which will keep you occupied. Good luck.

Avoid planned parenthood!

Just go to your local health department and discuss getting birth control. You will be able to not only get free condoms there, but also the birth control that you DO need.

Condoms break and can even come off during sex. Birth control will also help with your periods, too. Often the length of your period is much shorter and depending on the brand, can help with skin complexion. So protect yourself and enjoy the benefits!

Condoms are a good form of birth control and the easiest because the guy can get them and you don't have to remember to take a stupid pill everyday. Depending on how old you are, I really wouldn't know what birth control is best for you. If you're underage, you should probably rethink having sex altogether. I know it's not the popular answer but it's something to think about.

You can get birth control pills at free clinics (just Google for one in your area) or you can get them from your doctor. Remember that birth control pills have side effects and everyone responds to them differents. There's also patches so you might want to shop around to see which one is best for you.

Yes you definatly need a contraceptive.
If you can't afford it, you surely can't afford a child. If you are old enough to have sex, then you best be ready to have a child.

Don't feel presured for sex.

Also, there are some free clinics that can help you with contraceptives. Planned Parethood is one. Check with your doctor or your public health center in your town.

Please Please,,,you have lots of time to have sex in the future.
Get an education. Earn an income, find a man and then have sex. Otherwise you will go from being a child with a child, with a bf who all he wanted was sex from you.

okay hun, go to planned parenthood. tell them u have no income to pay for the birth control and they'll give it to u for free.
but other than that, as long as ur using the right condom, and you pay attention to what youre doing you should be fine. just dont use two condoms at once. people think that it will help incase one breaks, but all ud really be doing is making it worse. while having sex, the friction between the two condoms builds up causing the condom to break. so just use one, and have the guy "pull out" and u should be good to go.

glad to help :] good luck.

No method of birth control is 100% effective except staying a virgin until you are ready for the possibility of falling pregnant. However, if you still want to have sex, the safest and cheapest way is to use a condom, better still think about using 2.

Assuming you're old enough....

Use a condom. It will protect against disease. Use a Spermicidally lubed condom for extra protection.

Then, also use Semecid or other spermicidal vaginal inserts. This'll give you about the same statistical level of protection as the pill, PLUS protect you from disease. If you REALLY want to help stay safe, avoid having sex around your fertile period as well...

Good luck!

If you have to ask, yes you need it. Unless you live in a one horse town there is a free clinic for this sort of thing. You can get the pill and condoms free of charge. Use both for your own safety and health. You are obviously smart and mature to be asking this. Learn all you can and be safe.

If you don't have the money for birth control then you certainly don't have the money to raise a child...hold off on the sex until you can afford to do it right!
