Keep your tongue between your teeth, bite on it and do not let go!

You are probably not a good listener. Try Folding your arms like we had to do in school. Try to be a listener. You will learn a lot. People in general like good listeners and really don't like someone who wants to dominate the conversation for all of the attention.

If you have to sit with you hand over you mouth till it becomes a habit not to be a big mouth then do that.

Self centered people never ask others about themselves because they don't care to listen.. It's all about them.

You will be thought of as a bore if you can't get out of your self.

learn to be comfortable in your own skin - remember it is always wise to listen - before speaking. whenever possible - avoid direct eye contact with people. you are like an open book that says "read me" - close that book at least half way - don't invite yourself into others conversations simply because you are close by and you happened to hear what it is they are saying. the minute you become a book of answers - the more you will be asked to answer questions - then you are basically "thinking" for others so they don't have to do their own "thinking".

theres no need to stay quiet if what comes out of your mouth is not offensive to people.

you're expressive and that will show in your conversations.

if you want to stay quiet then you'd be better off to start listening to others and i mean really listening to what they say.

put your internal voice to the side and only contribute when you think necessary

this can create a lot of problems in the future if you don't work on it. ever heard of the saying "if they speak rumors to you, they also speak of you". People are not dumb, you will always be known as a "loud mouth", and nobody will be able to trust you with any kind of secret. You will burn more bridges than you can mend...

good luck on fixing your problem

Haha. Me too. And, it has gotten me in some big troubles. But, now I just keep to myself, and unless I feel like starting a "war", I shut -it. lol.

Just keep an internal monologue going reminding you of the consequences.

I'm the same way. It's tough; the tongue is a tiny organ but so hard to tame....
