Have you tried switching him to a hypoallergenic food. It can take up to 10 weeks to see results, but if the dog's feet are itching due to a food allergy it will resolve the problem. Chewing on the paws is almost always a sign of some type of allergy. You could also have the dog allergy tested and then start giving it allergy shots.

If hes constantly licking and biting his paws hes got allergies. I am going thru this with my dog currently as well. He started to break out on his back with scab like things and was licking his paws constantly, brought him in and it was allergies, what hes allergic too not sure but I changed him to a natural dog food called Nutro I believe, and got rid of his bones, breath mints and bought a bone that is good for dogs with allergies and also bought this oatmeal shampoo that is good with skin issues with dogs. The vet told me the first sign of allergies in dogs is they lick their paws alot because when they are having an allergic reaction there skin is over producing oil and they are trying to keep themselves clean. I learned alot going thru this with my dog, I got him meds, he cleared up and now hes got scabs and licking his paws again, I went to PetSmart and was so educated on Dog Food, how certain brands are so horrible for your pets, so I got him on better dog food and she said after 3 months I should see a difference if not they will refund the food and everything 100%, now the other thing she told me as well, is that when you bathe your dog, you may not be rinsing them off good enough and the soap could be giving them a reaction, so best to give them a bathe in a shower or tub that has a detachable sprayer so you can really get them rinsed off good. Now before this all my dog was fine, never had any health issues, nothing and this came outta the blue, like humans dogs can get allergies in an instant, have you changed his food, toys, bones, shampoo, something new in your house like cleaning products, scent etc, theres so much its hard to narrow it down but I am starting with the better dog food, took all his old toys away and gave him new ones and gonna give him a bath in the shower now so i can rinse him properly and see if that helps him out, if you have a petsmart I so recommend going there because they will educate and help you. Hope this is helpful.

Have they tried puppy downers...no, for real, they now have psychiatric meds for dogs....also, make sure the vet has checked her teeth. Cavities near the gumline will cause tension in her gums similar to infant teething pains and can be bothersome. Good luck.

He could have allergies to something he walks on, like the carpet or carpet cleaner. You could spray bitter apple on his feet to get him to stop chewing.

Smack him to stop gnawing at the furniture or itself...then provide him with a rawhide...It works wonders as it keeps dogs busy for hours...I have a jack russell terrier, puppy though, and he's a biting machine, but the minute I give him his rawhide, its the only thing he'll chew!

the vet can actually perscribe your dog a stress pill kinda like doggie paxil what your dog is doing is either he is really nervous or jsut not getting enough play time try walking him at least 1x a day or 20 min and give him more attention.
