My three year old daughter is coming home from day care every week with nits and it's driving me nuts! I have used everything in the Pharmacy, I soak the bed sheets in the soaking solution, and I even do her hear in a tight braids!

I can't take anymore days off work just to treat head lice. I need to save my careers leave day for when/if she is really sick.

I am concidering changing Day care centres but she likes it there!

Some kind of oil in her hair will take care of it. They cant breath and will die. The nits will die too and can be more easily removed with oil. You might have to put it on pretty thick at first to get rid of them. Skin So Soft from Avon applied sparingly will keep them from returning. Baby oil works too. Maybe even some hair jells.

My son got lice at a daycare he went to. They were very strict. No kids that had it were allowed to return to school until they were treated. I washed his hair VERY throughly with lice shampoo and washed all his linen and put his stuffed animals in an air tight bag for two weeks then washed them. I never saw one nit. They also inspected each of the kids as they came back. They re-inspected two weeks later. Maybe you could talk to them about doing that if they just let it go I would switch daycares because what else are they willing to compromise?

You need to talk to the people at the day care...She will continue to get lice if the day care doesnt do anything about the situatiion. I would switch day cares if there was nothing done about it. i have heard using hair spray in your hair helps to reduce the chance of getting head lice.

Permethrin 5% answer. utilized for six hours for 2 consecutive days. You repeat after one week with yet another 2-day cycle and that ought to do it. For prevention, vinegar. utilized once weekly for 1/2 an hour.

I agree with talking to the school. They need to do something about it or else she's just gonna keep getting it.

Pronto, ask for it by name.
