A curse given to a person who is displaying too much good fortune. Other people will envy him when they look at him, and all that envy will transfrm into a curse and affect that person.

Come here and I will show you the evil eye. Ok, when I give my children and grandchildren the "look" that does not need words. My eyes squint. My nose wrinkles up and my mouth closes in such a manor that it goes with the rest of the look. Instead of my evil eye terrifying them, they laugh and walk away. I am such a push over.

That's the look my almost 2 year old daughter gives me whenever I say "no" - usually in response to her demands for chocolate or whenever I catch her climbing and endangering herself - a bit of a daredevil!
