I've been wearing glasses for about 7 years, (just for computer and TV, not for everyday use) And in the last few days I've developed a large lump, like a biggish pimple, on the bridge of my nose where my glasses rest. Can I do anything about this? it looks rotten,

Change to plastic lenses, and get a lighter frame if yours is big and bulky. Plastic is lighter, but I know people who say it scratches too easily. Mine haven't scratched in years, and I still clean them on my shirt. Plus a dropped pair won't break like my last 2 glass ones (not careless, just active).
Be extra diligent in keeping your face and glasses clean. Soap and water is sufficient.
Eventually your skin will adapt if it's not too badly mistreated. But the above should work immediately.

Oh yikes, I'm sorry. Since you only wear the glasses when you're home mostly, how about putting a piece of scotch tape over your nose whenever you wear them?

Use pimple cream on the spot and switch to contact lenses for a while.

Definitely go to your ophthalmic optician to get it checked out, it may need to be removed surgically. At least she will be able to put you mind at rest if is nothing much and give you advice on what to do
