Dear Jitendra,

Very nice question!
Very frankly, I don't know the answer that why nature decided to take 9 month cycle for giving birth to human baby. Of course, Scientists have found out that why it need 9 months but that is only analysis. They don't also have control to make it faster or longer.
I only can say that like movement of earth is 24 hours against SUN, may be different against other planet, SO it is actually the maths of almighty GOD or nature and very difficult to understand. But I am very sure that there must be right answer in our Hindu Scriptures.
Good Luck!
Please let me know if you find out right answer on my email: vijaycpatel44@yahoo.com

Who says that children are born exactly after 9 months.........sometimes they are born any time between the 7th and 9th month. I am a 7 month born baby.

Now to your question. God has created a system where the process of the growth of embryo to a completely developed baby takes 9 months. But even the babies who are born from seven month onwards also survive.

First of all are you a mother? Second have you seen pictures of a developing fetus? What do you expect rapid generation? one or two months and poof out comes a human being? That would kill women. The baby is feeding off his/her mother obviously so if it takes 9 months then it takes 9 months. Study cell structure and you'd understand the process better.

I think during the period of gestation lasting almost 9 months, the whole process of evolution is rehearsed. Starting form the single cell organism, it goes through various stages, when, the embryo goes through various forms of lives, through which man evolved. Why nine months, is a difficult question to ask.

Not every child, that is an average. + the counting starts at 0, so it's 10 months, my 2nd was born 2 weeks late so 10.5 months for her.

Obviously they don't, they vary. The first pregnancy is a little longer on average, and with fertility therapy going on, women are now having litters in 8 months!
