No, I don't think so. The lyrics are about no religion. No religion doesn't mean no God. It only means that there's no organized system of religious dogma. That's actually a very nice idea but that day will never come. Some people rely quite heavily on religion. I think the point of that line was to think of a world where people weren't using religion as an excuse to hate or kill.

I think he will be correct... John was a little ahead of his time. It seems that the God-based monotheists and polytheists are entrenched much more firmly in their doctrines than any rational man might have guessed. How the believers manage to remain so steadfastly blind to the truth is anybodies guess.
But "Yes"... John's classic song and his claim of support for the ultimate success of the only reasonable and logical conclusion that mankind can make about the "true" nature of his life and his surrounds is, indeed, atheism.
He was correct, and if we were ignorant of it at the time, we all now know that no god exists or ever has existed.
It's interesting to note, that at the time the song was released it did not cause a great stir among the organized religions. As I recall it, the recent Dan Brown book and film, "The Da Vinci Code," has had a much greater impact on stirring up serious questions of faith among God-believers.
...Anyhow, the song ought to be an inspiration to all people, that Eden is not something from our past but rather that it is something yet to be constructed by all of us cooperatively..... Just imagine.

POST SCRIPT to Impossibl... Princess: You'd better go back and listen to the song more carefully. It clearly does mean, "No God."
POST SCRIPT to Leanne M: Leanne, the next time you bump you head, go to a hospital before you begin to believe the kind of tripe that you've apparently swallowed from your last head trauma.... It's positively disgusting to let yourself tout the kind of C R A P you've stated here.

No he wasnt obviously there is still many religions, Not to mention the Christian Body has only gained strength since then and increased, i hardly think athiest won, and never will, Life in body may end here, but its only the begining, for the atheist, it will be a very unsettling long time.
Why is there no mature atheist? Why does even the 40 or more year old atheist resort to grade school taunting tactics? Common now, I believe in God, but i dont believe you have to believe in God to be a civilized mature human being.

Um. in case you theory the enamel fairy replace into genuine then being asked to think of that's not makes ideal experience. you're perplexing your self. in case you do not have faith interior the enamel fairy then being asked to think of that there is no enamel fairy would be a thoroughly redundant request to fulfill. this would not recommend the request isn't clever. basically that that's pointless. An atheist being asked to think of there is no God will view the request precisely comparable to if he/she'd been asked to think of there is no enamel fairy. i'm sorry December yet that's no longer solid logic you have positioned forward

No, atheism is unbelief, and all unbelievers will perish, that does show that atheism will eventually lose. John Lennon by the way is in hell being tortured. A group of chrstian youths were taken in 1995 by Jesus to hell to show them that hell exists and to get them to tell the world what they have seen. Jesus showed them John Lennon hanging upside down in great pain in the burning heat. Christianity will prevail, and will ultimatley win. So that proves how much God hates unbelief. All unbelievers will end up in hell and then eventurally wind up being cast into outerdarkness where there will be weaping and knashin of teath, they will be consumed with an intense fire that will consume them for all eternity. So to answer your question Atheism will have no part on the kingdom of God.And John Lennon is getting what he deserves.

No, I don't think thats what he meant. He meant people living in peace like there were no boundaries and ideas that divided people. Not that he thought religion was extinct.

I think the main reason is that atheist's have no reason to organize like a religion. Also allot of people are closet atheists because christian extremists like to be negative toward them and riddle them with guilt.

Well, only about 12% of the world are nonreligious/atheists.
If you mean an intellectual or moral victory, though, yes (but these victories don't amount to much).
