Taste buds r trained to like such kinds of food. One shud not crave all the time. It is better to satisfy it once a while.
Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

I don't know this is the answer that will help but i don't think that it science its to do with the situation that person is in for example the person may have turned to fatty foods for comfort in a bad time in there life and just carried on with that routine or a person may just like to eat fatty food because they know that it is bad for them and this gives them some buzz!!

Since you asked for opinions as well, here's mine: I wonder if it isn't some sort of survival mechanism in humans. Back when humans were hunters and gatherers and nomads, they couldn't rely on always having food available, so by eating high-fat and high-calorie foods they could survive longer between meals. And it was passed down to us.

Sugar and salt can be addictive so the more fatty foods that you eat which contain these the more you crave them. Your body gets a quick fix using these foods and then needs more.

people love fatte food because it tastes so good and when they have a little it turns to they want to eat more and more of the same thing. also fat foods add extra sugar and less vitams so u become fat and they have lots and lots of trans fat which is super hard to lose also high in calories and cholesteral.

I think it's a comfort thing. One feels like life is worth living after a fatty meal.

well, this is just plain stupid. u pay me money i won't eat any fat food. i don't eat it, and i don't want it. if i have cravings i eat dark chocolate. so do not generalize. if u have cravings for fat food eat more olive oil - your body probably needs some fat, and vegetable fat is good for body
