I understand perfectly well that there is a higher power. It's called the WIFE.

The need to conceive a higher power is part of the development of the brain, and it is a sign of maturity in a eight year old. In an adult - it is alas a sign of not moving on since the 11th birthday, when most young adults start to develop the ability to move into abstract thought. Thus it is a sign of immaturity, or it may be the sign of cowardice, in that the individual is afraid to face the truth (sic).
Atheism is the sign of maturity of thinking (in some) and of being brave enough to fly in the face of the majority of fools who want to pin you down to their own mantra. Many folks who have doubts about a higher power, simply hide behind the Agnostic label, and let the Atheists take the flack from the zealots.

I'm a coward and immature. I'm not sure which one is stopping me from believing in a higher power. Seeing as children believe in God, Santa, the tooth fairy, the bogey man and anything that you tell them is real I would say that it's not due to immaturity. I would say that immaturity makes you more susceptible to believing what people tell you.

No, it is the vanity and arrogance of human nature that causes us to assume that since there is no easy explanation for the universe, some sort of human entity must have created it, something not quite human, but based on human form, human MALE form of course, because we are so narrow minded, we couldn't imagine it any other way could we?

Can I have more options please. Cowardice or Immaturity are both pretty bad options. They do however make it pretty clear what your opinions are. Its great to see an open mind at work.

As an Inability, it can't possibly make us immature or cowardly. As something that we choose....it might.

Neither.
I don't think it is a matter of ability but a conscious choice to believe one way or the other.

neither. it seems to be either a strong reliance on man's system of science ( = ignorance ), a desire to continue living an immoral life, or possibly laziness.
