Whenever I visit my favorite supermarket, I see people using the free blood pressure measuring machines. Is that a gimmick ,or do the machines really work?
Thank you

Most of the time they work pretty good. For a correct reading you need to sit an rest for a little while and then be very still not talking. When you have been rushing around the store your blood pressure will be higher. I use these machines and take my blood pressure at home as well.

Those machines are not the most accurate. If you truly want to know your bp, ask a health professional. Some pharmacists will even do it for you.

Yes they work. It is a great way to monitor your blood pressure at times if you don't have a blood pressure cuff at home.

yeah they work, I wouldn't adjust my medications based on their readings but overall they do give you a good idea of your blood pressure

It's a gimmick, and a dangerous one. People who use them have their kidneys stolen.

They work unless they haven't had their maintenance work done on it.
