Yes, I remember that place and it was good. Then came Long John Shivers and Captain Disasters. Always call stuff by a nickname. There was a point after Arthur's that was around in the mid to late '70's called Cedric's Fish and Chips. It was a different kind of place as they had Colonial Fried Chicken. Can't imagine our country's founders in the 1700's with their powdered wigs chowing down on fried yard bird. Chicken was actually better than their fish. Everything was fried in peanut oil.
Don't know what happened to Treacher's, it's just nice to know you're not the only one to remember it. G

Arthur Treacher's is still alive and well, though about 2/3 of the restaurants closed (including the one in my town). Personally I think they are leaps and bounds better than Long John Silver's.

Yes they used to be all over the place. Nathan's Famous bought the exclusive rights to market the Arthur Treacher's trademark and sell their products co-branded with Nathan's own concepts Kenny Rogers Roasters and Miami Subs.

I have very vivid memories of going to one at Topanga Mall in the San Fernando valley must have been in the 70's. Although I think it was bought out by H Salt Fish and Chips before it went away.
They even served the fish and chips in newspaper, just like it should be.
I miss eating food like that.
