Yes my boyfriend does that, its annoying. Its not good for your teeth either, you should see a dentist. He just unconsiously moves his jaw from side to side grinding his teeth when he sleeps.

Teeth grinding is done by a lot of people and is common. Since you have been told that you do this see your dentist and ask him about getting a mouth guard to wear at night.

Almost everyone grinds their teeth together while sleeping it can be a symptom of stress but it is considered to be a normal thing.

Problems can arise because while you sleep your brain cannot exert control on how much pressure your jaw puts on your teeth while you grind (crunch) them together.

For people under stress teeth ginding can get to the point where teeth can crack or chip and in the most extreme cases a person can actually cause ligament damage to the jaw.

I grind. My dentist made me a special mouth guard to protect my teeth. Go and visit one NOW. I waited and now I have reduced the length of my teeth, it has moved my jaw bone up to high and I am having to have extra dental work because of it (It costs AU$5,000).

Teeth grinding can happen for many reasons, but usually the #1 reason is stress. Another reason is you may have too many things on your mind and are anxious to resolve those issues.

I once read that teeth grinding is nature's way of cleaning a person's teeth. A lot of people do it in their sleep and don't know it unless someone tells them.

i used to grind my teeth.. because i would wake up feeling clicks and aches on my jaws that could last for months.
could be due to stress factors, shape of your jaws etc.
if it's pain and causing you inconveniences, go see a doctor.
i didn't see one but i'm not having problems with it now..

I think its a stress factor... try getting a mouth guard... similiar to what sports players wear... it helps... of course if you are not too embarrased to wear one...

APOCALYPT,
HAVE YOUR DENTIST GIVE YOU AND EXAM TO SEE IF IN FACT YOU GRIND.
IF YOU DO GRIND, HAVE THE DENTIST MAKE YOU AN N.T.I BRUXISM APPLIANCE.

yes. Might have something to do with anxiety. Don't really know. Just know I used to wake myself up sometimes doing it. Ask your doctor.
