What happened to the days like in WW2 when all the men in america shut down everything to either help in the war effort or go fight. And don't give me this crap about we don't believe in the war. That is not what america is about. I don't know if we should stay or leave Iraq, but I do know that is where we are and we aren't leaving any time soon. And don't question me I am serving to this day and have been to Iraq. And have seen. Yes it is a diffrent war diffrent time, and the war is fought in a diffrent way. That dosent change the fact that this country is still at war. And real american men should step up to any call for our commander and cheif. I dont care if you like bush or not. I didnt like Clinton, that dosent mean I would not have fought for him. Where please tell me where are the real american men?

I retired after 22 years in the Navy. I did my time and was ready to do 30 but the Navy said no we need people to get out and retire so I couldn't withdraw my retirement papers. The fact remains this is a Free country and there is NO Draft in effect and these folks are exercising their FREEDOM of CHOICE. That does not make them a lesser human being or American than you are. I fought for the right of ALL Americans to be Americans, in more than one conflict. Yes I have a son in the Army and if he gets killed I'll remember to tell his kids, Daddy ain't here cause he was fighting the big bad Insurgents ? Is that what you are calling them these days ? Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
I wish you good luck but I really think you should lighten up on the people who simply did not make the same choice you did. It's their privilege and right as AMERICANS.

wait just a dang minute. i am a real american man. i am too old to enlist. the shipyards and defense plants are not hiring.

just what exactly do you think i should be doing to support our military efforts in iraq and afghanistan?

i get up everyday and work my *** off and pay taxes. just exactly what else should i be doing?

you can't compare a world war to iraq. every american citizen had to sacrifice during ww2 with food and gas rationing, a draft, blackouts at night, civil defense forces, hundreds of thousands dead, a war on 4 or more fronts, all major industry shut down to produce military items.

i find your question very insulting and very ignorant.

very few people are fairly declaring that the wealthy must be needlessly punished yet shall we' face it it grow to be in truth their authorities, a authorities that supported them above the overpowering majority undeniably, that deregulated the monetary sector and created the tremendous nationwide debt- many people, troublesome operating people are in trouble-free terms declaring that they must be taxed wisely. in case you position them on a pedistal and condemn anybody else then you quite will quickly have a Plutocracy and that is now no longer a land of threat of that you communicate. through the way- per chance low priced health look after troublesome operating people must be a real of kinds. that is not any longer a communist ideal yet a humane one.

if you do the research, you'd know that American men didn't all just volunteer and join up right away, some did, but most waited for their draft notices...
