I tend to cry a bit much over a family death. Is this healthy?
I don't know, but it just seems to let my feelings out. If I keep then bottled up, I feel depressed and just not myself. So please, is it really OKAY to cry, and mourn this much??

Most definitely.
It has been proven that different tears under different circumstances: like happy tears, mourning tears, are chemically composed differently.
So, what does that tell you??
It is a way for all of us to not only release built up emotions; properly go thru the process of grief; but, also to release toxins from the body.
If, however, it goes on for months, you might want to see a grief specialist, counselor, or minister. Too much of ANYTHING is never good and could indicate you are suffering from major depression.
But, for now, have a GOOD CRY.
And, God Bless.

If you don't cry - you are not dispersing something in your blood stream called noradrenaline, which our bodies release when we are stress - not only is it correct that you cry - but more healthy too - for if your body doesn't dispose of this chemical it can be poisonous !

If you're family is frowning on you crying then there not much of a family - if this is in your own head and you're friends think you're making a fuss - change your friends then not worth your friendship - there is nothing more natural than to cry after losing a loved one human or animal !

Let it all out girl !

I'm a man and I've cried on many occasion and felt much better for doing so - don't let anyone prevent your body doing what it should do naturally - afterall we wouldn't cry if we wern't meant to - there's always a reason for things in nature !

It is OK to cry because everyone has a loved one that they really love and if you keep it bottled up, you are just destroying yourself. Crying too much for them is the problem because you should know that they are in a better place now. Would you rather have your loved one be suffering on earth, or live a happier life in heaven where there is no suffering. You can also produce wrinkles if you cry too much. You sometimes just have to let them go and enjoy your life because that person who died would want you to live a happy life while you have it. That person wouldn't want to see you cry. Just think about that. No matter what, they are always there beside you, guiding you throughout your life.

why not?

However, a better way I learned is not to visit that room often. Because the time and ordeals you put through by allowing yourself soaking in the sadness, will not do any one any good.

Look at bigger picture, we all be dead one day (not very long from now actually, 50, 60 years is not a long time by the way). Death is simply a different state of the life cycle.

Like electronic signals, zeros and ones are the body of the whole system. It must co-exist all the time, otherwise, there will be no universe.
Our real job is to enjoy our allocated time slice and do the best we can before the decent phase kicks in.

And after that, we return back to the nature and new life will emerge to make up the new lost.

Crying is the most natural and healthiest thing to do...cry as much as you need because its extremely healthy...don't keep your feelings bottled up and don't worry about what others think....Everyone should understand that you are mourning someone and I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for comfort for you and your family. It will take a while but you will start feeling better.

Yes, to cry is an emotional release which you need right now. It would not hurt to talk about this death with a minister a counselor or even your family Dr. You are on the right path to mourning the death. By all means work out your feelings!

Yes it is healthy its all part of the grieving process. Plus crying is a very good release of emotions. Crying is ok, there is even a song called okay to cry. I just thought that was interesting. Be greatful for tears because I cant cry very easily and I am not even a cold person.

Absolutely. There is nothing wrong. Cry away, and it is healthy. Losing someone you love, relative or a freind, is devastating. To come in terms with the fact that you will never see them again...its so impossible to think...how can death separate us, where do we go after death, sometimes you wish you could reach them wherever they have gone, sometimes you wish you could go back in time and do a few things you wish you'd had when they were around.....its sad, so cry away. It is good to let it all out and keeping it inside is not only depressing, but abnormal too.

And slowly, you'll see yourself getting over it....accepting the terms of law set by nature...

Crying is a way your body releases, toxins that can cause depression when in a tramatic experience or for any kind of experience. Crying will actually help to relieve some of the depression and morning feelings. It is ok to cry, so cry your eyes out and eventually sweetie you'll feel a lot better.

I cry alot too. I can't help it but cry. Its not sumthing that I can control nor is it sumthing that I do in public. It just hurts too much and the heart is in so much pain, ofcourse its not healthy, but somethings are beyond my control. Try to talk with people you trust who would care for your feelings and would offer emotional support. Hopefully, little by little, recovery will be in progress.
