We are intelligent enough to understand science, why do we need a "GOD" to answer our needs.

I think Marx was pretty on point calling it the opiate of the masses. A lot of people need the comfort of religion to explain things we don't understand, most notably death.

Religion does a lot of good for some people. I think good people are good people. They use religion to express their goodness.

Bad people are bad people. They use religion to express their hatred. I think Pat Robertson would be a jack **** regardless of whether he had become a Christian.

God and Science are co-related, at the same time I agree with your point that we are intelligent enough to understand Science, but we have to accept the fact that our brain has not yet developed at its maximum or even at an average level. For eg. our scientists are able to define each and every organs of a mosquito by cutting them into pieces, however they are unable to give back a life to that same mosquito. So, I believe we humans beings are a kind of kindergarten students only.

When our ancestors started thinking, their brain was not enoughly developed to understand the Science of Nature or Human being. So, they were forced to believe in a mighty hands behind the creation of nature and I hardly believe what they believed in those days were true and that was only a faith, not any religion. Later human being started thinking more wisely, some of the wicked minds divided the God to attain power among the society. It was a great success and that success is still ruling the world by dividing us in the name of various religion. So, friend I will never say that we don't want God, but I always wish we don't want religions.

Because we are "WIRED" that way! This is the way God made us. Without Him we are not complete, in terms of meaning and purpose in life. We will be constantly chasing after things in life hoping to be gratified and satisfied but will not find lasting contentment and peace. Such can only be found in a relationship with our Maker. Human beings are incorrigibly religious, and this is borne out by the evidence that every culture has their own worship of the supernatural world. Even the atheists and freethinkers had to fight their inner voice in order to counter the heart knowledge that there is a greater being out there.

A way for the human mind to give over that to which it can not handle in stress, because some people are not intelligent enough to understand science, and because it creates communities and stuff, yadda yadda yadda. Also, there are those it keeps in check, those, unlike us who can police ourselves.

Some of us don't.

But many people are terrified to function in a world where they aren't being told what to do like they were when they were children so they move toward a religion in the hopes that they don't have to think for themselves.

Its not that they actually need it, its that they can't handle life without it.

God was used as an explanation for things before science was discovered.
Now that we have the REAL explanation for things (although we haven't fully interpreted it all yet), people have buried themselves so deep in religion they cannot be pulled out, and they drag the next generation down with them.

Religion and science are related and lead to the spiritual life to understand spirit soul and super soul in relation to God.

Science cannot perform miracles God can. God can improve, overcome or nullify all His physical creations just by His word of mouth. This is way beyond science.

who else is going to answer it? people need an answer to what goes on in the world. why are we here? why do we die? not even the most intellegent person in the world can answer ths question. people need to be comfortable of whats going on, and need something to rely on when something happens. thats why over thousands of years so many religions have some to be. to help people cope with the changes in our world. to feel safe. Understand?
