We paid for my wifes tuition on Dec. 5th 2006 for classes starting in Jan of 07.

From what I am reading, as long as those classes or other expenses that qualify are for the acedemic period in the following year starting within the first three months of the following year. They can be claimed on 06 taxes. Am I reading this right?

in the journey that your are submitting as an indiviudal with a 1040 return IRS calls so you might apply a money foundation of accounting. in this foundation you may declare the rate once you paid the bill so that's a 2006 rate.
