limewire: it give me searches!?

Question

I'll type in soemthing very popular and mainstream like "Madonna" and nothing will search. I don't know what I'm going wrong. This is a new computer with windows vista, could that have something to do with it? It also says that "limewire has detected a firewall", but itsn't disabling that bad? How do you disable it then?

Blagh. I've waited like forever to find music and now I got the program and it wont even pop up searches. It just reads like this:

You need to give your firewall a rule change, depending on what anti-virus or if its just windows firewall, different steps are needed...leave a message and I'll try and help you through it.

Check if your Lime Wire is connected before trying to search for files.

Dont disable your firewall. Just go to firewall advanced tab and you would have something like Exceptions. Configure an exception for limewire.

This would make Limewire to communicate across the firewall.

is the limewire p2p network screen at the bottom left of your limewire window in "red blocks"?
it's supposed to be in all green blocks to indicate it's network to have successfully connected. i think it's your firewall blocking the network. you can goto control panel and security section to turn it off. but first you have zonelab's firewall installed first(even though it's free it's still one of the best out there better then 1000 dollar ones you buy they tested it, from then on use ony 1 firewall cus they'll counter each other), cus limewire's full of malicious viruses. zonelab works with limewire, just becareful don't let leave limewire "connected" after you've downloaded your programs.
