Yes, they are allowed. However, the card must be with no ribbons, sparkles, stickers, lipstick, padding, etc. Nothing must be attached or glued to it. You can send photos, but no polaroid. You can get more info on www.prisontalk.com
ALL jails, prisons, and other facilities allow cards ! (some people here answer questions with no clue about the subject)

The only one to answer that is the authorities at the specific jail/prison. Each institution has their own set of rules. Some will allow them, some not. You should call or write them and ask.

You can send a card to someone, but before it goes to the INmate, it will be opened and checked by officers to make certain there is nothing in it other than just a card-----so if it is one of the cards with layers or "pockets" dont bother sending it as it will basically be destroyed when being checked.

you can send mail to someome in jail but the card will be checked before it gets to him so make sure there is nothing in the card that should not be
