You could try eye drops for bloodshot eyes. It won't make it go away but it may make it slightly less noticeable. It will go away in about a week.

No big deal; unless it goes on for LONGER THAN A WEEK.
A great eye drop is Similasan--homeopathic---yet,found at eye doctors now, gentle, and soothing. Highly recommend it.
Can get it perhaps at your grocery, I get it at WalMart--cheapest.
Look inside before checking out; there may be a $1.00 coupon inside, therefore saving you even more money.
Am not sure about the warm compress idea; seems to me cold would be better; you could ask your doctor, eye doctor, or Dial A Nurse: for cold--cucumber slices are extremely soothing.
I wouldn't use tea bags though; not for this.
