The Christian God doesn't and there are many other religions whose Gods don't have wives but then there are also many other religions who's Gods do have wives. What religion where you talking about?

"Husbands" and "wives" are concepts that arise when consciousness is in its ignorant mode. There is no relationship bondage or exclusivity when consciousness is its enlightened mode. It might be helpful to meditate on what Jesus said about marriage in Matthew Chapter 22 verse 30, Mark Chapter 12 verse 25, and Luke Chapter 20 verses 34-36.

What is God and what is a wife? If God is considered as the infinite awareness which includes within itself the entire universe then what could be God's wife? And in a sense you could say that everything is God's wife. But if you think of "wife" as something "separate" or "other", then God could have no wife since nothing is separate from God and everything is God's Self.

Although the Council of Nicea and their descendants worked very hard to eradicate any indication of the Goddess in Christianity, in ancient times the goddess Ishtar was referred to as the concubine of YHVH (you'll find her referred to as a "sacred grove" somewhere in the KJV because the idiots that translated it didn't know what an "Ishtar" was...). This is not to imply that God is man and has relations with a woman, but is a spiritual allegory to the male and female duality of the universe, much like yin and yang in Daoism.
Today the function of the Goddess in Christianity is filled by prayers to the mother of the Messiah ("Hail Mary, full of grace...")

No, God is a God and does not require a wife, we do because we are human. Differences.

Wife is a human construct. In fact, if there is a god, giving it the lable of he is also a human construct. If god exist it is all encompasing and is sexless and therefore, no need for a wife. God is just knowledge and feelings, it is the soul of humaness, not are physical bodies.

No. God is an eternal spirit. Nothing in his revelation would indicate God has a wife.

No, that is why there is so much suffering in the world. If god had a wife she would come after him and clean up his messes (like disease) and life would be perfect.

While he has been on a few dates, he has had no success (apparently he is really conceited and keeps going on about how he created the universe & stuff - women just don't like men who boast!).

P.S. I hear the Devil has many mistresses . . . .he is supposedly really good in bed.

I'm an atheist, but my understanding is (according to the Christian teachings implied by the capital G in the word God you use) that:

1) Jesus is God
2) Jesus' bride is the church

So yes, the church is God's wife.

Does God have a wife?

God is spirit, He is neither male & female.

Man (kind) was created in His image.

The wife God has is Israel see the old testiment.
Jesus is engaged to the Church & will return to collect His bride soon very soon.

What to speak of God, even the demigods have their wives.
Svaha is Agni's wife, Chaya is sun god's wife, Rohini is moon god's wife, Rati is Cupid's wife etc...

The three incarnations of Krishna, in charge of the three modes of material nature also have their particular wives.
Bhavani(Durga) or Parvati is the wife of Lord Siva
Bharati(Sarasvati) is the wife of Lord Brahma
Lakshmi or Ramadevi is the eternal consort of Vishnu.

Of course, Krishna the Supreme Personality of Godhead, while on earth 5000 years ago, had 16,108 queens, chief among them are, Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Satya, Kalindi, Laksmana,
Mitravinda and Bhadra.

Some explanations.

The material knowledge begins with atheism and moves towards skepticism and then antagonism culminating in the improper understanding of ultimate truth or absolute truth (which some call as God) as impersonal or void. The bible, quran, torah and the teachings of Buddha of Buddhism and Mahavir of Jainism all deal with this material knowledge, which says, there is no God or everything is nothing, or if God is there it (he) is impersonal which is another way of saying no God and so on…

In these scriptures, compared to a pocket dictionary, there is only a hint about the nature of God. In the Vedic scriptures, compared to an encyclopedia, there is much more information about the name of God, form of God, qualities of God, activities of God. Vedic scriptures are go beyond the imperfect material knowledge and give the spiritual knowledge.

Therein one understands that, GOD IS A PERSON and thus has all the personal qualities what we have. WE HAVE A FORM because GOD HAS A FORM. It is not that God has a form because we have a form. The bible also confirms that man is made in the image of God not that God is made in the image of man. Our present material body is temporary and destroyed, whereas we as spirit souls are eternal and the spiritual form is never destroyed. Only the body which is like the covering of the eternal soul is destroyed. With the material vision we cannot see the soul since we are accustomed to seeing only material objects made up of matter. So with material eyes, we cannot see God. But the fact is taht God has got a form. We have a spiritual form and God also has a form with two hands, eyes, legs, hands, and everything. But the ingredients are not material but spiritual.

The Vedanta-sutra says, Janmady asya yatah, which means everything is born of the Absolute Truth. Since the Absolute Truth has got form and female aspect, we have form and female
companion. No one can possess, a form or wife or anything that is not present and coming from the Supreme Absolute Truth. Again, the Vedanta-sutra 1.1.12 says, that the nature of the Absolute Truth is anandamayo 'bhyasat, which means, the Absolute Personality of Godhead, Krishna, wants to enjoy ananda (happiness) with his pleasure potency. His pleasure potency is not material since Krishna being completely spiritual doesn’t enjoy the material energy but enjoys the internal energy. The Vedas say, Parasya saktir vividhaiva sruyate, that Krishna has got many energies multi-energies, and by utilizing, manipulating that energy, He is manifesting Himself in so many ways.

Therefore, impersonal concept of God is imperfect conception of God. As per the statement of Brahma in Brahma Samhita, the Suprem controller, Krishna, God, is sac-cid-ananda-vigraha (eternal, knowledge and blissful form) and is the cause of all causes both material and spiritual. The material world is termed as the Mother Nature (feminine) or material energy of God the Father.

Below is some excerpts, from the teachings
of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura,
the spiritual master of Prabhupada(founder of ISKCON),
Similarly, in the gradual development of spiritual, transcendental knowledge which is above the material knowledge, one understands and worships in the increased order the shakti and shaktiman, energy and energetic the conception of Supreme in the form of male and female as,
1. Laksmi-Narayana,
2. Sita-Rama,
3. Rukmini-Dvarakadisa,
4. Radha Krishna.

But for a person in the material platform the conception of Radha Govinda appear to be obscene, while the pastimes of Rukmini-Dvarakadisa appear a little better. Moreover, they consider the idea of Ramacandra, who vowed to accept only one wife, as more ethical than the behavior of Dvarakadisa Krsna, who accepted many wives. They consider Laksmi-Narayana to be more pure than Ramacandra. Moreover, they imagine that the conception of Vasudeva without His saktis to be more ethical than the conception of the Supreme in the form of male and female.

And further down the material platform the conception of impersonalism or voidism seems to be more natural like atheism, skeptism as stated before.
