Poipu Beach. It has the best body surfing in the world, but beware of the strong undertow, and you would need to be a very strong swimmer. Most of the people out there bodysurfing are big Hawaiian native guys who are expert at it. You can see the whole island in a day, but that is the most pleasurable area I think.

We honeymooned here in 1998 and saw the entire island. If you want my advice, take the helicoptor tour! You can see the parts of the island that aren't accessible by car and see the Na Pali Coast which is just breath taking from the air. There are also over 2,000 water falls on the island and most of them will be seen by chopper. We used O'Hana, but I've heard Safari Tours is the best as you get a DVD of your trip. Wiamea Canyon is very similar to the Grand Canyon if you're into that. Princeville Hotel has a great "private" beach that we just walked right onto! Good luck and have fun!

I really liked Princeville. It's really out of the way from all the other cities in Kauai.
