Bush wants to do it even though ex military leaders in the US have said it would be a disaster.
The Iranian military is better equipped and trained than the Iraqis were. Iran has access to huge oil reserves which would be cut off if any invasion or strike was attempted, sending oil prices spiralling. They would also attack all shipping moving along its coast - that means that virtually all middle Eastern oil would sink to the bottom of the sea and with that prediction s state that most of the world would starve for oil within 20-40 days.
Iran is also backed and supported by Russia and China. They will get involved. In some was they will definitely get involved. The US would be digging its own grave.

At the moment there's no real reason to go to war with Iran. Iran is pushing its boundaries and seeing how far it can bend the rules without breaking them. However, with the leadership in both countries there is the possibility of war. Both leaders hate each other, and Bush has the tendency to do the unexpected and stupid thing. Iran is being pushed into a corner by the western world. It’s like a wounded animal and it gets closer to using force all the time. Iran says that it would only use unclear weapons if their existence was in danger, meanwhile for the last thirty years they've been telling the world that the United Stated threatens their existence.
If the United States where to go to was with Iran they'd have to pull out of Iraq or at least move troops out of the country into Iran. They can't fight two wars at once.
Israel is the one who's more likely to have a widespread conflict with Iran, Israel has already shown their not afraid to go to war, shown with their invasion of Lebanon over the summer. Israel also has nuclear weapons, and they’re far more likely to use them that the United States, if the United States and Iran went at it, Israel would want in for all the things Iran’s done to them over the last thirty years.

I hope the US not making another mistake. I believe this time they can't just go in Iran, because another countries involved in this discussion, so we need to pray this thing will be never happen and also US don't have enough soldiers and Iran is bigger than Iraq.

Probably we will not go to war with Iran, the current political leadership of both parties have no balls for real war.

It would be the absolute worst thing we could do. It would stretch our military to the breaking point and unite the Muslim world against us. it would tear apart the Middle East and lead to untold deaths. It is something that every sane advisor would tell Bush not to do...and I fear that, even with all of this, he will do it anyway. God help us all and God save our country from this madman.
